Talk:Scorpion House

Now, if Scorpion House is "the fourth all-female house" and Sir Robert Selachii is a member, we have a dilemma. Either the already-eccentric Sir Robert had a struggle with sexual identification or the house changed to girls-only more recently. The latter would surely have caused considerable protest from the typically conservative old boys. Having gone co-educational would be a solution, but I have no sources at hand. --Old Dickens (talk) 04:49, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Damn. but this does give me an idea for a fic... let's say Scorpion could, for instance, be an experimental "mixed house" which could only be placed under the supervision of a long-time ultra-experienced hand like Lady T'Malia. Or else, right at the start of co-education, a decision was taken to make it all-female. So in the first year you'd have a first form of Young Ladies. And the six years above being male. So you'd get seven "transition years" as the gender balance changes and more and more Scorpions become Scorpionettes, with the interface between male and female rising up the school. What hi-jinks might happen....

you're right, it is only inference from the sources with no definite proof. And you continue the interesting anomoly of Lady T'Malia having been Housemistress to an all-male house and all the little issues that might arise therefrom. (And did she graduate after seven years of imposture and strategic socks, in her time?) Interesting issue to ponder. AgProv (talk) 13:30, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
