And (sigh) my creation of head keeper Mr Grinchlow proves to be spookily accurate in name, age and conception. Except that the psychic link between myself and Terry broke down when it came to the name. So Mr Pontoon it is, then. On the edit of "{{wp|Orang|orang}}": the canonical spelling is "orang '''o'''utang ({{TLF}}), but ''orang'' refers to several <s>Indonesian</s> Bhangbhangduc apes, none of which is found in the menagerie. Of course orang (o)utan(g) ''means'' "man of the forest" but I don't suppose they take it literally any more than we think a sea horse is equine. --[[User:Old Dickens|Old Dickens]] ([[User talk:Old Dickens|talk]]) 14:49, 16 March 2015 (UTC) |

Damn... the existance of the Quirm Zoo puts a big anachronism in my fanfic.... time to rewrite bits of Nature Studies if only to give Johanna another reason for persuading the Patrician and other ciy notables that it's about time Ankh-Morpork had a bigger and better one, as befits its status.... I can no longer say A-M was first with a municipal city zoological gardens... --AgProv 17:39, 17 October 2011 (CEST)

- Why would they do that? If there ain't various trouserlegs time-space itself would crumble--LilMaibe 10:03, 18 October 2011 (CEST)

On the edit of "orang": the canonical spelling is "orang outang (The Light Fantastic), but orang refers to several Indonesian Bhangbhangduc apes, none of which is found in the menagerie.
