The Scissor Man is the creature that turns up to cut off the fingers of the naughty little children who suck their thumbs. It looks something like an ostrich and something like a lizard standing on its back legs. It is entirely made out of metal blades and every time it takes step it goes snip...snip...snip...snip. It once came after Twyla but Susan easily beat it back with her poker.
Annotations
W.H. Auden refers to the Scissor Man in the poem The Witnesses. Could possibly be linked to the German children's character Struwwelpeter (Shaggy Peter). There was a character in DC comics called Suck-A-Thumb based on Struwwlpeter. There was also was Edward Scissorhands.
