I suspect it means, in a roundabout and very loose way, There's no such thing as a free lunch.--AgProv 16:31, 11 May 2011 (CEST)

The translation gets a little easier when it's spelled properly, but it still ain't easy: something like I cannot remember exactly, but it was something like vanilla-containing sweet after-dishes-enclosing. Perhaps like vanilla ice-cream? It wants Rene --Old Dickens 02:55, 12 May 2011 (CEST)

Ah. I got stuck on "bra" as a potential meaning of "haltige" ("bustenhaltige"?) and thought "surely not...". Interesting, as I thought I'd cracked it when the last three word seemed to check out as "not a free serving of food", ie, "not a free lunch" But then, my Geman is patchy...--AgProv 20:23, 12 May 2011 (CEST)
