Hired by Evil Harry to act as jailer, he was chosen for his special qualities in this area; his ability to fall asleep while on duty, have the jail keys on a large keyring that could easily be hooked off his belt.  He would also check if any prisoner was ok should they suddenly manifiest unknown 'illness', and would do so without first summoning any other guards.
