I'm wondering if this could be a reference to the french town of Aix-les-Bains, or just a generic name based on cultural references. - "Aix" is a common city name in France. Comes from the latin "aqua" (water). Most cities called "Aix" used to accomodate a bath house in roman times. - "Pain" is "bread" in French
