I've just been re-reading The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents. On page 140, there is a dialogue:

The youngest member of the Trap Disposal Squad was trailing after Sardines. She was wet and dejected. "you look like a drowned rat, miss" said Darktan. "Fell in a broken drain, sir." said Nourishing.

Is it me, or in manner, attitude and experience, does Nourishing come over as a rat version of Jocasta Wiggs? As The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents was published a few years before Night Watch, this could be the genesis of Jocasta...AgProv (talk) 07:13, 30 December 2012 (PST)

Gee I hate The Watch! Does it deserve references here beyond its own page acknowledging its existence? It has almost nothing to do with the works of Terry Pratchett. --Old Dickens (talk) 00:47, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
