"Lobsang" as a name is a sort of generic first name for Tibetans. Look up "Cyril Hoskins" on Wikipedia[1] and I think you will see why Tery chose to use the name for Hublandish monks! It doesn't imply any sort of family relationship...--AgProv 17:10, 8 October 2010 (CEST)

"Lobsang Dibbler" ostensibly wrote Path of The Scorpion. There are several of them. --Old Dickens 21:54, 8 October 2010 (CEST)

I'm presuming the 'Ludd' part is a reference to Ned Ludd who founded the Luddites? Is Terry drawing parallels with the Luddites and the Thieves Guild? Is 'Newgate' similar to 'Ned'? The book your looking for is Guards Guards. I think it was a salve the monks made for CMOT. DonnerFu, 5:55, 16 May 2012
