Not sure which book it's in, a Watch book I think, but Dibbler (or a dibbler clone) has something sent in from monks on a mountain. A monk named Lobsang is mentioned. 121.215.221.101 14:03, 8 October 2010 (CEST)

"Lobsang" as a name is a sort of generic first name for Tibetans. Look up "Cyril Hoskins" on Wikipedia[1] and I think you will see why Tery chose to use the name for Hublandish monks! It doesn't imply any sort of family relationship...--AgProv 17:10, 8 October 2010 (CEST)

I'm presuming the 'Ludd' part is a reference to Ned Ludd who founded the Luddites? Is Terry drawing parallels with the Luddites and the Thieves Guild? Is 'Newgate' similar to 'Ned'? This wouldn't be the first time Terry has named a character after a period of social unrest...ASK ME ABOUT STAMPS 21:44, 9 May 2012 (CEST)
