I realise I'm late to this discussion, but there's a reference to the Zabingo tribe of the Great Nef (with that spelling) in {{WS}}, which might be what the map is referencing? [[User:Guybrush|Guybrush]] ([[User talk:Guybrush|talk]]) 13:56, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

Copied over from a discussion on Zambingo v Zlabingo...

Hmm, there's also a entry on "Zambingo". Can we hold this in limbo till somebody's been able to heck spelling and precise location? I'm almost sure it's not a country but a city/port, and it's on the "west" side of Howondaland on the Mapp...and checking spelling would be advantageous too. --AgProv 08:29, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

The Fifth Elephant (or, at least, my Harper Torch edition of The Fifth Elephant) says Zambingo. It doesn't say whether or not it's a port/city or a country. The only directional informatino given is "bound for Ghat via Cape Terror", and "a nice long walk through the jungles of Klatch". TC01 11:30, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
The article Zambingo seems accurate and the Mapp shows a city or small area called "Zabingo" on the turnwise coast of Howandaland. This could be explained by dialects or a typo. Zla Bingo (Polish) is the most popular of 56 Google results for "Zlabingo". "Zambingo" returns 4650 including a skit from The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour, 1971 and a samba from 1945. It's either a popular nickname on the `net, or one very prolific poster. Whence "Zlabingo"? --Old Dickens 22:59, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
