Is Mustrum really his first name? I assumed it was a honorific, a form of "Mister" or "Master"? When the wizards address him as Mustrum, are they really using his first name? Then again, Granny recognizes him by that name, so maybe? Kellyterryjones 04:17, 24 August 2007 (CEST)

I have no reason to assume it isn't his first name, Mustrum as honorific isn't mentioned anywhere. --Sanity 11:51, 24 August 2007 (CEST)

I've always believed it to be a first name (it's no more ridiculous than "Hughnon", his brother's). "Mustrum" isn't an honorific in English, and TP doesn't often contrive neologisms, unless it's necessary, such as the names of invented gods. Or, if he does (such as Tiffany's "noonlight" or Lobsang's "premembered") he ascribes it to the character. --Knmatt 18:55, 28 August 2007 (CEST)

On a different tack, it occured to me tonight that British actor Brian Blessed is the living, breathing, walking and bullroaring spitting extrusion into our dimension of the phenomena which is Mustrum Ridcully, and surely a shoe-in to play him in any adaptation?--AgProv 00:28, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Already listed (twice) in the Ultimate Casting Page. (Despite the rules at the top, it's full of misspelled and duplicate entries, besides the terminally silly. I really wonder why most of the candidates for Jason Ogg are female.)...--Old Dickens 14:26, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

I have to say, though, that Joss Ackland was brilliant in the TV version of Hogfather. --Knmatt 15:44, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
