Tharga

An all-purpose draught animal, beast of burden, meat resource, and source of thick hides, farmed in the lower Ramtops by Mort's father Lezek. A test of dexterity in the winter is to move in a Tharga enclosure without having your boots ripped off by the suction. Also referenced by Lu-Tze.

The tharga is notable, zoologically, for having a separate brain for each leg. This system must have some value in the evolutionary process, but sometimes the left/fore leg knoweth not what the right/hind leg doth, with disastrous results.
