The ''Elephant Road'' is the title of a long narrative poem by [[Felicity Beedle]], quoted in part in {{CDA}}. It tells the story of the mysterious Elephant Road out of the [[Kingdom of Howondaland]], created when for no immediately explicable reason, up to a thousand elephants chose to form a super-herd and migrate. Even today, some years on from the event, the Elephant Road leaves visible traces in the form of flattened jungle, bare grassland and collapsed river banks.
