Magnus Magnusson. A native Icelander who left home for what he perceived was far more liberal Britain and who made a TV career as one of Britain's favourite intellectuals. He became so British that everyone forgot he was originally from a colder, clammier island even further north and west.

He slowly realises he is incurring the simmering wrath of a very disapproving Deep-Downer Grag, who looks upon Magnus and disapproves of... everything. He is only saved through the intervention of liberal Grag Bashfull Bashfullsson.
