Ah. Ref. edit on 31/08/07.

The line about "The King may fly a gyrfalcon, whatever the hell one of those is" was a direct lift from the book Lords and Ladies and repeats its phraseology...

Explaining what a gyrfalcon actually IS is appreciated, but the original line in the book plays on Magrat's ignorance of all things falconry-connected.... maybe if it were written as

• The King may fly a gyrfalcon, whatever the hell one of those is (it's actually the world's largest falcon, but Magrat Garlick did not know this)
